Message Since our insurance rep is a good close friend of the family, I have bene advised that there are easy ways to document and collect for the actual value of the vehicle, despite what the vehicle would be worth under normal conditions. For example, the whole engine bit - I have reciepts for everything I have purchased as well as a quote on the labor to have Nissan do it. The labor costs are incredible for the work I have done just to that. Parts costs are around $4K. If something were to happen to the vehicle, I can substantiate the value of whatever is in there - the engine was replaced and an alternative was put in - here's what it costed for both parts and labor. Just because it was a turbo motor vs. a non-turbo motor is moot. Just as long as the car doesn't get totaled or burn to the ground at a racetrack or something and I'll be just fine.. All of the computer equipment is bolted down and resides as part of the vehicle. It is not removable so therefore it is not 'personal belongings'. I have reciepts for all of that stuff too. If my car were to disappear, I'd be looking at close to $20K in payouts.

: Have you told your insurance that you have turbos? Say you hydrolocked your motor - would you expect a TT or an NA motor? Say someone stole your car and totaled it - would you want the value of your NA plus mods (such as exhaust and computer stuff - but not motor stuff)?
